Tom, Do any of the photos (esp., photos 6, 19, 20, 31) have exact dates noted anywhere? Two show the Wright Field arrow ( F.A.D.) insignia which I believe means they belonged to the Fairfield Depot and were on transport assignment to jump the troopers--this was pre-Troop Carrier. Image 19 shows C-47 with plain star on left and C-47 with star/meat ball on right. This must have been made during a very short period of time when new aircraft (no meatball) were delivered and pictured along with older aircraft (with meatball) before the meat ball was overpainted?
