Joint Missions and/or Escort of B-25s on Detached Service at Dinjan Airfield, India

I am having some difficulty in establishing dates of missions flown by B-25s of the 11th and 22nd BmSqs operating on detached service from Dinjan. From June 1942 thru Jan 10th 1943 it was two to three planes from the 11th; Jan 10-May43 the 22nd maintained two planes there.

On the few reports that I have been able to access from this period, escort and/or joint missions from Dinjan into Burma are attributed to the 25th and 26th Fighter Squadrons, 51st FG.  Can anyone provide dates (or more information) for missions of 25th or 26th Fighter Squadron which involved 1 to 3 B-25's operating out of Dinjan, between Oct '42 and Jun '43?

These would be separate from escort provided to, or joint missions with, larger numbers of B-25's of the 22nd, 491st and/or 490th BmSqs operating from Chakulia, Kurmitola or Chittagong Jan-Dec 1943.

Tony -
You might want to PM Forum Member Carl Molesworth.
He has written several Books on CBI.
His Book on the CATF ,Wing to Wing , is outstanding.
Cheers,
Mike

Dave,

Thanks for the input.  I had reviewed the Chronologies quite some time ago, and found them to be a great generalized first reference. Unfortunately, over 22 missions flown in the summer and fall of 1942 and first quarter of 1943 are not included.  The other thing I have found is the dates in the chronologies appear to have been adjusted to "stateside" equivalent versus the date on the reports.

Mike,

I agree about Carl Molesworth's book!!  I have used it as reference on several occasions I didn't have a mission report matching a mission in the chronologies, and was trying to determine if it was CACW 1st Bm Gp mission or 341st Bm Gp.

I also have two of his other books, "Shark's Over China: The 23rd Fighter Group in World War II" and  "P-40Warhawk Aces of the CBI"

I hadn't thought about sending him a pm.  Thanks for the suggestion.
