There is an NARA partial enlistment record for a Gerald F. Beier, born in 1918, residence county Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but enlisted in Jan. 1941. Shows " source " as Natl. Guard, so this man was in the Guard before joining the Regular Army. Could this possibly be him ? This is the only " Beier " with a " Jerry " or " Gerald " first name shown from Wisconsin.

PS .... should add, it shows him enlisting at this time as a PFC, medical dept, but civilian experience as machinist ...  The 1943 date could possibly be the date he completed flight training after transfer to air, and this is the date of his commission ?

    Kay,

per the above message, is your fathers 'official' name Gerard /Gerald  Brier?  What would he use on his birth cert, drivers liecense etc.  What was his year of birth?  it will help confirm or otherwise the above date.
