Is he still with us ? - 05/10/2008 07:53:48 AM
Hello,

A find of wreckage on a mountain slope and the luck that the Production plate complete with numbers, has led those in the area to ask if the pilot who became a POW is still with us.

On the 22nd of February 1945 P-51 Mustang from the 309th Fighter Squadron serial number 43-24797 "WZ-L" went down in the Inesbruck area of Ausrtria.

Well all these years later Mr Anton Volgger found the parts Inesbruck is about 35 miles away. A further search is to be carried out later this year.

The pilot of 43-24797 was 1Lt. John T. Cravey, and as said he became a POW.

The searchers would wish to hear that he is still with us as they would like to make contact with him.

Therefore if you know of him then please reply.

Many thanks

Alex
