Information about a crash on February 14, 1945 - 07/24/2008 04:18:25 AM
Hello,

I'm looking for more information about a crash that occured on February 14, 1945.

This is all I know:

The plane crashed in the waters of the 'Haringvliet', eye-witnesses told it was a B-24 Liberator. The crew bailed out, all were taken POW expect John E. Brown Jr, he DOW. Searching for more information about Brown, I found out that he was serving in the 388th Bomb Group, 561st Bomb Squadron. Were there any B-24's active in the 388th BG? Or was Brown a replacement in another Group? I'm puzzled!

I'm trying to find out which plane this was so that I can retrieve the MACR and to learn who the other crew members were, etc. etc.

Any information is more than welcome!

Thanks.

I think the bomb group number was written wrong on the abmc.gov website and that it must be the 389th BG. There is already a topic on the 389th forum, so therefore this one can be closed.
