Greetings, it's an honor to be a member - I was a paratrooper in my war and would like information from anyone who knew my Dad, Cpl. August ( Gus ) Pollio in his - From the little he tells me ( still alive, kicking and working at 88 years old ! ) he was a clerk with the 438th Troop Carrier from approx. 1943 onwards and served in France and England that I know of ( As I said, pretty closed-mouthed ) - Any info would be greatly appreciated - Airborne All the Way ! - August Pollio Jr.

Greetings to all, I need a bit of clarification on my Dads uniforn ribbon and shoulder patch ( see photo on thread ) - Can't identify the ribbon and don't know why he has an Airborne tab over the 9th AAF shoulder patch - In my time, only active jump units wore the Airborne tab - Any info would be appreciated - By the way, I told my ' Closed mouth ' Dad about the site and research i'm doing and all of a sudden he's interested ! - Shocked the hell out of me !
