Identifying a plane ITALY 43 - 05/18/2008 08:42:25 AM
Could somebody help me to identify this piece of motor of a plane who fall at 40 km from montecassino at the end of 1943

Well, it's a camshaft for an inline engine..... Looks to be missing the left-hand end, which would then give it six sets of cams.
Allison or Merlin engines would both have had 6-cylinder camshafts, for each half of the engine.

Sorry I can't be of any more help at the moment, I'll see if I can match it up.
