Identifying a plane ITALY 43

Could somebody help me to identify this piece of motor of a plane who fall at 40 km from montecassino at the end of 1943 [image]local://2134/9D412E8FEDBD4417B6141FA68E817BB6.jpg[/image]

Well, it's a camshaft for an inline engine..... Looks to be missing the left-hand end, which would then give it six sets of cams. Allison or Merlin engines would both have had 6-cylinder camshafts, for each half of the engine. Sorry I can't be of any more help at the moment, I'll see if I can match it up. Paul
