I am looking for anyone with any information on my Grandfather, Jay M. Riley, Jr. from Lincoln, NE. He started out flying B-24s as a co-pilot, in the 465th/781st squad Nov, 1944 and in Dec 1944 was switched to the 122nd/885th (H)(SP) squadron. He was killed March 7, 1945 on return from a night mission. According to the letter sent to my Grandmother, they heard the plane approaching and then heard it crash into the sea.
The entire crew was killed. The only other crew member that I know the name of, is Vernon Anderson. If anyone remembers my Grandfather or something about the missions they flew or just about those groups I would love to hear from them.
