Nathan - He doesn't mention Landers in His Book. He trained in 1941 at Ryan Field , Moffett Field , and graduated from Luke Field 12/41. Note - While stuck in Labrador on the way to England , he got in trouble with the Base C.O. , Colonel Landry. (?) Mike

I did an interview with Jack in 2000 and he stated: "My good friend, John Landers, was flying as a corporate pilot for a company out of Fort Worth and he told me about a similar job with a company in Dallas. I went up to Beechcraft in Wichita, Kansas and bought a brand new C-45 for $3,500.00 and had it converted over to a corporate aircraft." (This was post-war.) Also, Landers is mentioned in Happy Jack's Go Buggy, but only in passing. Jack mentions his name when writing about his return to the ETO for his second tour, after a stint with a training squadron in the U.S.
