HELP on B17G 42-39897
-
11/28/2007 10:09:12 AM
Hi, I'm French and I do some research about B-17's lost in France during the WWII. My first project was about "Big Red", you can have a look on my website: http://b17.bigred.free.fr/index_english.htm Now, I'm doing with a friend, michel, some researches about a B-17 crashed in "Fontainebleau" forest in a place called "Le Rocher de Cornebiche" on 02/06/1944. This B-17 was the B17G 42-39897 from 95BG 336BS. The crew was: Pilot: Leo G. Hamby Co-Pilot: Horace M. Peay Navigator: Richard A. Burke Bombardier: Dominick (NMI) Denaro Flt Engineer - Top Turet Gunner: Allen J. Gaudet Radio Operator: Francis G. Bleyenberg Ball Turret Gunner: Augustine (NMI) Burgo Tail Gunner: William D. Starns Right Waist Gunner: Donald R. Reboulet Left Waist Gunner: Clarence O. Leslie They are burried in "Arbonne-en-Forêt" cemetary. I need the MACR # 2199 and any further information to complete my researches. I have the interview of Barabara Spork who was W. D. Starns wife and POW records about both waist gunners. Here is a pic taken in the crash site. Thanks in advance, Olivier. [image]local://upfiles/14695/C27E4D867C1644DA9B8F67EBBAB61796.jpg[/image]

Thanks for your answers ! I tried to send a request for MACR # 2199 to lynn.gamma@maxwell.af.mil but I received this answer: " <lynn.gamma@maxwell.af.mil>: host mx-sf-02.maxwell.af.mil[132.60.240.5] said: 550 5.7.1 unable to accept mail from your domain (in reply to MAIL FROM command)" Someone could request it for me ? I need more informations, nickname, crew and aircraft pics... Thanks in advance ! Olivier.
