French Dressing, B 17 1944 / 45 - 02/23/2008 03:24:21 PM
I met Caleb Baxter Navigator, in Koblenz about 1988, He was running a military equipment Company supplying NATO and the German Airforce . As I was from Essex He told me a lot about his time at Ridgewell and his favourite pubs!  Can anyone update me on Baxter ( as he liked to be called ) or his family

Peter:
Sorry to inform you that Mr. Baxter passed away in 1999 according to our association records.  He served 34 missions as Navigator from May to October 1944 in the 532nd Squadron and is listed on the B. Rivett crew.  The Rivett crew photo is in the Personnel section under Crew Photos-R    Link http://381st.org/Personnel/CrewPhotos/tabid/76/Default.aspx:
Unfortunately Mr. Baxter is missing from the photo due to an injury.

Regards,

Thank you Kevin, although it was sad news to read , regarding Baxter. He was a great Guy and a very brave Man , I feel privileged to have met him, It was Men like him who saved my country's bacon !
It was ironic , I thought, that he ended up living and working in one of the cities ( Koblenz ) He navigated to and helped bomb.

Hi,  I was hoping that you would have information on a man that served on Col. Rivett's crew. His name was Mack B. Melchor. Engineer and turret gunner.  I personally know his nephew and he would be greatly appreciate it.
