Found a bunch of photos... 572nd, 573rd

I never knew my grandmother's second husband. He died years before I was born. Thankfully though, he left us a scrapbook of photos that he compiled during WWII while serving in the USAF. Based on the photos, I've traced him to the 391st bomber group, and either the 572nd or 573rd squadrons.

Tell me, do any of these photos mean anything to anyone? Unfortunately, my step-grandfather (Owen C. Howe Jr.) did not write any notes or captions in the book. So, if you can identify the people, places, or planes in any of the pictures please e-mail me at: garrison202@yahoo.com. Let me know what you know and I'll post your info alongside the appropriate picture. We can have a virtual scrapbook. Not only that, but I can finally "meet" Owen Howe.

    A lovely set of photo's here.

    Having seen the name of 'Easy Dog 99' which was lost on the 23rd December 1944, I would guess that he was probably in the 573rd Squadron. Easy Dog 99 was T6*B, S/N 42-95825, of that squadron.

    I'll try to get the link to a couple of friends that know some information about the 391st BG. And also get this information out to the 391st Association, who would probably be very interested in contacting you personally.

    John,

    That's a great collection of photos. We have a section for member photo albums here on this site.  Would you consider uploading them again and creating an album here too?  Our system is a little easier to navigate than webshots and creates a larger image on the screen.  Take a look under the tab marked 'Photo Galleries' at the top of this page then look at 'Member Photo Albums'.  Think about it.
