Earl Wilson - 02/28/2007 02:29:39 PM
Hi, I'm looking for information regarding S/Sgt EARL M. WILSON ser.# 35092314, who was a gunner with the 438th BS. I'm trying to find a photo of Mr Wilson. He mainly flew with MISER, STURMER, AND NICKOLA. He was wounded on 8-21-44. Any help or information regarding Mr. Wilson would be appreciated, Mark.

Do you know serial, name or battle number for their Marauder? They landed at Grossete Air Field in Italy with damage to hydraulic system. Lieutenant Sturmer was the pilot.

Sorry, I have no information regarding individual aircraft he flew, just a couple of sortie lists and some insignia. Thanks for the information though, Mark.

Mark,

My dad was the pilot on the day Earl Wilson was wounded. His name was Lt. Berney Paul Sturmer. The incident is described in the book "The 319th In Action" on page 106. The plane was B-26 serial number 134938. Tail # 35. The name of the plane was the BIG ASS BIRD. Sadly my dad died when I was 12 in 1969 but would be happy to have contact with anyone with info or photos of the plane or my dad. All the best, Carl Sturmer. carlsturmer@verizon.net
