E&E Report for 42-30607 - 04/22/2008 01:21:46 PM
Can anyone tell me if there was an escape and evade report for Sol Ferrucci or David Lachterman for the Ken Murphy crew AC 42-30607 downed 15 Sept 43. The book I have does not denote KIA , POW ro EVD for these two. Believe only one survived. This plane along with my uncles plane 42-3437 and aircraft 42-30943 went down on same mission. Book list only survivor of  42-30493  E R Smith as POW. So I believe there would only be one other E&E report if any. I have the radio operator Rodolphe Richer's  E&E Report #255 the only survivor of my uncles plane. No way of knowing if other report are anywhere near this number.

Thanks,
Berk

Berk,

Bits & Pieces lists Lachterman as KIA and Ferrucci as POW.  All rest of crew listed as KIA.  No other information in that source.

Thanks Hal,
I recently have been in contact with an eyewitness to these three aircraft going down. They saw one of the survivors land on an island. Was hoping there was another E&E Report to compare to their's and Richer's accounts and determine which one it was. Accounts differ in some ways and match in others. Which I guess can be expected. If three people see something each one saw something differert. I believe that's the cases with the documents I obtained from NARA. They differ as to what position they were flying in formation. Some have Murphy in #2 lead and  #3 lead, Richardson in #7 low and #5 high and Reed in #9 high and #5 low. Also have a drawing with circles and aircraft numbers in each circle. But I can't make heads or tails out of it.

Thanks Again
Berk

Hello everyone
Not sure anyone is interested but I took the text from the La Garenne Colombes website, ran it through an on-line translator and used google maps in an attempt to document where the crew of the Pat Hand fell.  This is also based upon the picture taken during the raid, which for some reason I am unable to attach.
Please see the attachment.
thx
Joe
