Crew 6 - Sgt Costello - 12/10/2007 10:38:32 AM
Does anyone know of Sgt Costello from the 384th 544th?  He substituted for SSGT George Ashworth on June 26, 1943 on a mission to Villcoublay, France.  This was the day their plane 42-30031(unofficially known as The Bad Penny) was shot down.  Also, does anyone know what happened to George Ashworth?

Thank you very much both of you.  To continue this (and other searches of mine), is there a site that lists which POW camp airmen went to?  Is there a report filled out by airmen upon release?

Go to the www.archives/gov/aad/  This is the NARA site that you will have to navigate through. Click on WW2 and then on the POW records. You will need more than just the surname for Costello as there are 20 listed. His first name is not listed in my reference. You can also use his serial number and other information that will help narrow it down.  When you determine who you want to research, if there is a record it will come up and also a further record with more details.
