Kovack and Livingston both collided with P-38 airplanes while in unauthorized dogfights. Both incidents can be found in my book. Lt. Kovack and Lt. Livingston were both USMC according to my records.

Alex, The other thread disappeared with the website going down. The other P-38J was 42-67691 and it was involved in an accident on 5-28-44.

Hello Anthony, Many thanks. Will amend my list to show both airmen as "USMC". They were both in Corsairs thought yes ? What was the serials of the P-38's that they collided with please, I find three for the first and only one possible for the second ? I had not seen that the other thread had "Gone", so will recap. websites quote 440528...42-6791....P-38, This loss is I beleive to be 42-67691 as 42-6791 was a Dauntless ? OR were there two that day with similar numbers ? Thanks Alex

Hello Alex, Yes, the correct serial for 28 May 44 accident is 42-67691. Yes, both are Corsairs, but I don't know if Goodyear or Chance-Vought. The AAF report did not include the BuNo. for the Corsairs. Here are the numbers: P-38G 42-13391 22 Jan 44 P-38H 42-66943 18 Jan 44 All three accidents are in my book. Good Luck TonyM
