I,m looking for info/pictures of Col. Olin E Gilbert 78FG
His plane crashed on 08-28-1944 at Charleroi-Belgium,?
He evaded. Where he shot down by a fighter or Flak ?

MACR #8308..says he was hit by flak, engine quit, & he forced landed his plane P-47D-26-RE  42-28408, HQ Sq 78FG, in a field 200yds from a farm house, about 5 to 10mi. NE of the marshaling yard at Valenciennes, France.

My father is 90, but extremely active and has an excellent memory.
