Chowhound mission 100th BG, 01 May 1945

Good afternoon all,

For some time I am researching the History of Naval Air Station Valkenburg in the Netherlands. On May 1, 1945 this station was a dropzone for B-17 aircraft of 100th BG. As far as I know forty B-17s were planned to fly a mission, however 37 aircraft really made it. I am looking for the identities of the B-17s involved. Looking for serial numbers, tail code etc.
Do you have any information? Many thanks in advance.Sincerely, Martin de BoerThe Netherlands

    Hi Martin,

Did you have any luck finding a formation sheet for the 100th Bomb Group's 1 May,1945 CHOWHOUND food drop to Valkenburg???

We have been looking for that mission for many years. Amazing that the first mission wouldn't have been saved by one of the pilots on the mission for his personal records. We have all the other five missions aircraft info and formation sheets on the website www.100thbg.com

    Regards,
    Jack
