Charles McGorty - 02/13/2007 01:19:27 PM
Seeking any information regarding S/SGT. CHARLES McGORTY. He flew 34 missions between 11/24/44 thru 7/19/45. Need information regarding which squadron, crew or specific aircraft flown. Any help would be appreciated, thanks, Mark.

Jim, thanks for the lead. At least I know what squadron he was in and one of the a/c he flew. Blue Skies, Mark

Mac was left side gunner and replacement for Warren as engineer on return from mission. We flew together until we crash landed on June 22. Fortunately we all survived with only Jack being injured. After that we flew with other crews. We always associated ourselves with T Sq 23, 'Pocahantas', since that was the plane we flew our first mission, the first B29 raid on Tokyo. All crews flew on different aircraft no one assigned to a specific plane.
We were in the 874th BS, 498th BG.
Last saw Mac at the reunion in New Orleans years ago.
Of the crew  Phil Webster Eric Tillery Gene Hagemann and I are still alive.
If I can help you with anything else my e-mail reiny345@bellsouth.net.
