Capt Lanham C Connally (465th FS) - 03/14/2007 06:57:34 PM
Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone had details on Capt Lanham C Connally, O-23842 of the 465th Fighter Squadron.  According to the ABMC website he was killed (or declared dead) on July 4, 1945.

Any information relating to the aicraft he was flying, its loss etc would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Daniel,

I believe that he was flying 44-88292.  the 507th lost 2 a/c on July 4, 1945, 44-88292 & 44-88145 (destroyed in a belly landing on Ie-Shima with Robert L. Lindner).

I have ordered the microfilm of the 507th & squadrons from Maxwell and should be getting them in a few weeks. I'll be happy to share any info I get from them.

Tom,

Thanks for that.  The Aviation Archaeology website confirms that Connally was flying P-47
44-88292 when he went missing.

How'd the microfilm come along?

Hello Daniel

I happen to own the West point yearbook of 1941, the year captain Connally graduated. It has a picture of him and a small bio. Not sure this is the information you`re after, but if it is, i would be able to scan this for you.
