I was in the 15th TCS(H) 1956 to 1960. Sister squadron's 14th TCS(H) and 53rd TCS(H), These 3 squadron's made up the 61st Troop Carrier Group(H) at Donaldson AFB, SC.  Does anyone have any pictures of the C-124's at Donaldson,  they would like to share ? The 15th was the Eagle Squadron, 14th was the Blackjack Squadron, don't remember what the 53rd was.
Thanks, Terry  [sm=rolleyes.gif]

I am trying to send you a photo of Donaldson AFB. I think it is late 1950's vintage.
I could not retrieve your E-mail address.

My dad was a 124 pilot at Donaldson.  My mom was a nurse there too.  I'm a retirement benefit, born in Greenville, SC, where my parents stayed after they closed the base.  They were married at the base chapel in 58.  Think my dad was in the 14th, but I have not confirmed.

I would also love any pictures of Donaldson.  Like most all the kids in Greenville County, I learned to drive a car on those old runways.

My father was, Maj. or Lt. Col. Charles E. (Chuck) Dearing and my mother was Capt. Gwendolyn Louise Brown then Dearing after 58.

I would love to hear from anyone that knew my parents.

Michele, I do remember a Major Dearing and thought he was in the 15th with me.  I worked with all the flight crews in the 15th and new most everyone in the squadron from 56 to 60.  Anyway I beleive AirplaneB1 sent me a picture of several C-124's on the ramp at DAFB, but the picture was really dark.  I suggested to him, to find someone that could enhance the picture and send again.  What you see here is all the replys regarding DAFB.
Please let me know if you find out more about Donaldson in the late 50's.

My father was CMSGT Carroll L. Allen. He met my mother at the base at the end of WWII. Does anyone know where one could purchase a 63rd Troop Carrier Wing or 63rd MAW patch?

For all of you that have responded to my original message,  asking for informaiton about  C-124's and Donaldson AFB, Greenville SC.  I have been in touch with Bob Dicey who was stationed at DAFB in the time period mid-50's to early 60's.  Bob pointed me to Keith & Shirley Holmquist who were stationed at DAFB, same time period.  They have a wonderful website with loads of information and pictures of the 63rd TCWing(H) and the squadrons attached,  at Donaldson AFB during this time period.  Contact Shirley at keshi@charter.net who can give you an invitation with user name and password.

            Have a good day,

I am looking for any information on the family of Sgt. Hollis E. Hall.  Sgt. Hall was part of Major Charlton Winchester's flight crew.  I know at one point all the children were placed with a different Officer and his family.  I was the second youngest and am looking to reunite with them.  Any information would be great.

My name is Shirley Holmquist and I maintain a website for the 63rd Troop Carrier Wing on MyFamily.com.  I've been doing this since 2001 and have acquired quite a sizable amount of pictures, etc. from members of the site plus those not online.  My husband, Keith Holmquist, was a navigator on the C-124 with the 14th & 15th Squadrons.

Anyone who was stationed at Donaldson or had parents stationed at Donaldson is welcome to e-mail me keshi@charter.net for an invitation to the website.  It's a private website so you will be given a username and password to access it.  Hope you enjoy it!

Terry...I don't mean to be "Stuffy" but as a gentle reminder.....the C-124 was a USAF aircraft...this website is for the ARMY AIR FORCES of WW II.

This is not to be considered a threat or warning, but, mainly to keep this website for the USAAF of WW II.

                                    Jim :-)

Michele - my parents and your parents were very good friends while in Greenville.  My father, Capt. Warren John Fair, was killed in '61 in a crash outside of Tacoma, WA.  If I recall, my mother credited your parents for helping her trememdously during that time.  Are they still alive?  Please feel free to email me directly at gillescf@musc.edu.  I would love to hear from you.
