Blechhammer 2nd Bomb Group and YANK magazine

All,
My father was a ball turret gunner with the 2nd BG. I have some of his handwritten mission logs that reflect he was involved in bombings over Blechhammer. See here:

Among my father's personal effects he left a copy of an article from YANK magazine that I learned was published January 26, 1945. In the corner of the article, he had written “This happened in my outfit and its a true story.” The article is on the web here:

Can anyone provide some insight? I would love to know more about the missions over Blechhammer or any of the men who may have been involved. My dad kept in touch with a few of the men in his group for some years -- they would exchange holiday cards, etc. but my father passed away over 25 years ago now. The article states the incident occurred in winter, but my father's missions were in late summer and fall. I am unsure if the stories published in YANK were fictionalized for its audience (names, dates, etc.) -- or if they were written factually. My father never spoke much about his experiences. He did mention once or twice about being at an Italian family's home during his time in Europe while waiting for his unit to get him, but I was so young then that I don't think I remember the stories right.
Thank you.
