The navigator, Edwin A. Rodeheffer, was my father's best friend. My father, also a navigator on B29s, was also flying a sortie that day. He named my brother after Edwin in remembrance of him. Based on information I had posted, I was contacted by Mr. Yutaka Unno, who is working with Mr. Isao Arai, researching the B-29 collision over the city of Shizuoka on June 20,1945. Mr. Arai witnessed in the collision on that night in Shizuoka when he was around 11 years old. Since then, he has been very interested in the accident and wanted to know what happened with two B-29 airplanes and the crews. After finding the historical facts of the collision, they would like to let the remaining family members of victims and his descendants about the history. Yutaka Unno, graciously sent me a few photos of the Sengen Shine in Shizuoka that was dedicated to the flight crews of these two planes that collided.
