B-26 Poperinge, Belgium 1944 - 06/26/2007 05:44:38 AM
B-26 on pic made belly landing at Poperinge, SW Belgium (nr French border). Text says 6 Sept 44, but this is far from confirmed. May be week(s) off.
A/c had no more crew when landed, some say. Crash-landed due to gas shortage, it is said. No MACR or Accident report match so far. Case of "Landed on the Continent"? Ferry flight?
If anyone is familiar with a B-26 crash in SW corner of Belgium (most likely fall 44 or winter of 1944/45): any info is welcome, thanks.
