Hello, I'm living near Saint-Trond (Belgium) and I'm looking after some information mentioned in the mission report about the 43-39126 on the date of the 07 of April 1945 when this aircraft was rammed over Germany by a German fighter. The aircraft made an emergency landing on Saint-Trond airfield (A-92) Belgium. Crew: Wentz Robert McQueen Donald Boyer Robert M Sawicki John T/Sgt Carson Jerome H Johansson Harold C Robbins John A Barczy Zoltan J S/Sgt Jewell Robert C Would also like to know if these men survived the war and if someone knows one of them. Regards, Alexander

I suggest you try to contact the Bomber Group or Squadron veterans association (if any exist). Phil

Hello Alexander, There was another topic on this same aircraft some time ago. You will find it on the next page in February 2008. There is no doubt that Lt Wentz landed at St Trond. The website is definitely in error. But if something is on the net, is it often hard to get it off!!!! During my research for th 487th Bomb Group history I was in contact with Lt Wentz. I don't know if he is still living. I did not get in contact with other veterans of the crew. I also had contact with the widow of Lt Sawicki. She was able to substantiate the fact that the Wentz crew came down at St Trond, and that the website you mentioned is incorrect. Kind regards Ivo de Jong
