I am looking for info about my cousin 2/LT Richard A. Payne and his crew of B-24, 41-1104. Listed as lost 11/18/1943. I have some info that indicates the plane was #31 and named "IGGY"

I Just recieved the MARC 3352 from Maxwell AFB. Unfortunatly it does not shed allot of new information. Richards plane and crew were on an "Operational Flight" 11/18/43 when the plane and crew were lost off radar about 80 miles NE of Adak island. Recovery crews were dispathed and no remains of plane or crew were found. Speculation of "Wing Iceing" or "Complete engine failure" were listed as the cause. The Flight card for the plane was equally vague. The last entry lists the plane as "CON" Condemmed. I would like to find out what the operational flight was for.
