B-17 For Sale?

In the last several years, I have read that a couple B-17s had changed hands. Does anybody know what a B-17 would cost if one were fortunate to find one and to have the means to purchase one?  I know that P-51 Mustangs fetch over $1 million plus.  A Japanese Zero was recently up for sale for $1.9 Million.   Does anybody know what a flyable B-17 would cost?  Thanks.

    Petey,

Here are two sites that might be able to help you.  Courtesy Aircraft, which handled the sale of FUDDY DUDDY a few years ago, and Trade a Plane which has been around since the beginning of time.

    Tex,
    Nice project!!

Found out on WIX that the B-17G Fuddy Duddy went for about $3.5 to $4 million in late 2005 early 2006.  Somewhere in that ballpark.  Seems reasonable.  Terry, if I find a B-17 for sale I'll let you know.

I was looking at that Ryan PT-22 for only $75,000.
Wow its too bad dad is not around as this was one of his trainer aircraft.
Wouldn't that be a hoot to buy it.

A B17 was flown up from S.America to Executive airport in Ft Lauderdale FL about 15 years ago in very bad condition.  The owner/pilot was in the aircraft refurbishing business, it took about 3 years of on and off work to get it in pristine condition. I was told that it was sold for $1,000,000.
I helped a little in the restoration work, when it was flyable I had a ride and some 15 minutes stick time. In S.A. it was used to haul meat cargo.
