Luc's information lists three men as "evaders". According to the history of the 94th BG book, three men survived the explosion. On the ground, one hid and witnessed German troops machine gun his two friends to death. I'll post the account tomorrow, from Lingering Contrails of the Big Square A. Alain, do you have a connection to the men of that aircraft? Andy Mays in Maine

"...Geyer, the other waist gunner and the radio operator had bailed out just before the aircraft exploded. Geyer was the first to reach the ground. He noticed some German ground troops advancing toward him. He quickly removed his parachute and crawled into a wheat field where he hid. From there he watched his two friends land nearby. When the Germans came within range of the two Americans, they raised their machine guns and riddled them both with bullets. Geyer was stunned with horror. He wanted to charge the two Germans in revenge but knew that this wood be foolhardy since he was only armed with a .45 caliber pistol. His only hope for survival was to stay hidden until the Germans left the area. He remained hidden until after dark and eventually he made it back to England with the help of the underground. Though grateful for his good fortune, he would never forget the sight of his friends being gunned down."

Alain, Hi I only know of one picture of "Dear Mom" so far and I have included it. As one of the people restoring Rougham tower I want to let you know that on Sept 19 2006 a memorial was dedicated to all the people that served with the 94th BG during the war [image]local://upfiles/11282/4DDD5347E82A4BB49BF31AD451315C22.gif[/image]

Hello gentlemen , Thank you all for the great information , my interest in this crash is a little bit special.I'm doing some research on the history of the former airfield A-92 here in Sint-Truiden ( Saint-Trond in french ) Belgium. The crewmembers who were killed i the crash were buried by the Germans on the allied cemetry of the airfield in the graves with the numbers 281-286.
