hello mike, I wonder about this sign. until now, I found only callsigns like VE + M or QE + X for example, no numbers. 9 ? Z + T. gruß uwe

Uwe - Some 2d and 3d Division Groups had Numbers and Letters. 398th BG in 1st Division also. 9Z + T is correct for 728th Sq. Mike

Uwe and Mike, According to 'Battle Colors' by Robert Watkins, page 96, the 452nd did not display squadron codes. Only the radio call was displayed and that was only on the tail. The 728th Sq used a '- alpha' code, the 729th Sq used an 'alpha -' code, the 730th Sq used an alpha only code, and the 731st Sq used an 'alpha +' code. The call sign displayed on this aircraft would have been '-T' Hal
