He was probably in the 42nd...he was bestman at my Dad's wedding with took place 20 days after he returned home on Recuperation Leave-May 29, 1945.

I found a reference online that he (Rhinert Tadych) was attached to the 386FS/365FG, but then I lost the connection and now I'm looking for it again.

Indeed (only) a reference to 386th FS so far.
It says he came from Manitowoc, WI. Flew 82 missions between 7/44 and 4/45.

YES...that was my dad's hometown also...is there data somewhere on his outfit...plane he flew etc...I'll bet he flew cover for my dad's B-25's.

The 386th was in Europe...my Dad was in the Pacific...so they must have just met up after they both got home.
