Aircraft 42-97357 "The Railroader"

Greetings,
Thank you for such an informative site.  I was looking at the nose art area of 381st Aircraft and found "The Railroader" with a side view but no nose view.  This link shows the nose of the plane and the related story. http://www.398th.org/Images/Images_Crews/Text/Flight/Cullinan_603_19440719.html
My father was the Bombardier, Walter Marsh.  This is the plane they trained in at Rapid City, SD and in April of 1944 flew to Nuthampstead England, home of the 398th BG.  The plane was sent to the Base Air Depot in  Langford Lodge Northern Ireland to be made combat ready, and was than assigned to the 381st.  I am trying to compile any history of the aircraft with the 381st.  I do know it was salvaged on January 13, 1945, but would love to compile any history of missions flown, accidents etc. 
 
I have also wondered how the plane ended up at Nuthampstead on July 19th, 1944, when the photograph was taken.  I know my father talked alot about "The Railroader" and loved the plane and the men in the crew.  They formed a life long bond, and remained close after the War.
