Hi Luc: You want to find the book " INTO THE VALLEY" by Charles H. Young. Commanding officer of the 439th TCG. It has a two page article on " Aint missbehavin" written by The Capt of the plane. Plus two pictures. This is a excellent book on the war from a Troop Carrier prospective but with lots of information from ground troop as as well and lots of pictures. Charles Young is a very dynamic and great leader who had fun while being in command! I believe the book is still being published. Deano [signature]

Hi Luc! I hope you are still checking your posting. My father was a pilot with the 94th Squadron of the 439th Troop Carriers. That is the group that I believe this plane most likely belonged to. Although we lost my dad in 1993, I still try to keep in touch with some of the pilots in the squad. In fact, yesterday, I talked to the pilot of the plane you're interested in and I thought you might like to know that he is still quite vibrant, active, lives on his own and will be eighty-five years old this year. These guys are truly the "Greatest Generation" and we owe them so much. The thing that alway amazes me, is that like my dad, they all took it as just a part of life - to quote one of them: "We just did what we had to do. We didn't always like it, but we did it." If any of you squad members, group members or children thereof read this I would love to hear from you. Just send me a private reply and I'll be glad to respond as soon as I can. [signature]
