Hello,
We are a family from the Netherlands en last week we recieved 4 Certifications of Adoption.
2 of the soldiers are burried at The American Cemestery and Memorial Ardennes in Neuville/en Condroz in Belgium. Not so far from our hometown in the Netherlands.
The first soldier is Jerry F. Lyons, state Illinois, 2 Lieutenant, serial number 0/712454. He died on 24 of Jun. 1944.
UNIT: 513^th Bomb Sq / 376^th Bomb Gp Heavy      

The second soldier is Morriece G. MOODY, state Texas, Staff Sergeant, serial number 18039729. Hie died on 21 of May 1943.
UNIT: 368^th Bomb Sq / 306^th Bomb Gp Heavy      

Who wants en can give us information about these soldiers en Units=
Any form of information is very welcome.

Jerry F Lyons was the Navigator on B-24 42-78111,  lost on a mission to Ploesti. The plane was attacked by enemy fighters coming off the target. A fire was started in the center of the plane and it "burned through" .  The plane broke up into two flaming pieces just behind the ball turret and went down at 44 28 N,  25 50 E,  1001 hours on 24 Jun 44.   The pilot of the plane was Vernon Groom.  Only one crewman survived, Floyd L Giambalvo a gunner.
Lyons was married (Lorraine F Lyons, his wife,  was next of kin) and was from Chicago, IL.

As you know we have adopted 4 graves and 2 names from soldiers on The Wall of the Missing.
We have a own homepage en since a few days a new section is online from the adoption.
The names, photo;s etc.
But not everything is finished, we are still searching for information.
We found and recieved many information, also from people on this website.
Thx for this
Also we have to translate any info we have recieved into English or Dutch.
We hope to finish it in the next weeks.

Thank you very much, we also appreciate what you wrote to us.
Indeed we care and we like to do this for these soldiers. It's a beautiful place, also Henri-Chapelle and Margraten. 
We go to Memorial Day on the 26th of may to Neuville and Henri-Chapelle en the 27th of may to Margraten. 
We visit the graves, bring flowers, and listen to the people that will speak on this day.
We don't mind to tell you about the adoption's. It's a request.
In Margraten all the graves are adopted, so we have to wait. But we adopted two names from soldiers on The Wall of the Missing.
And we wrote to Neuville and Henri-Chapelle if it was possible to adopt graves.
So we did, 2 in Neuville and 2 graves in Henry-Chappelle.
Neuville is about 45-60 minutes driving for us, Henry-Chapelle 45 minutes and Margraten is about 30 minutes driving.
Nice to do this.

Hello everybody, 
A few days ago we recieved the last Certificate of Adoption. 
An American soldier who died in WWII and is burried in Margraten, Netherlands.
We know this is a army forum, but we want to ask if someone has more information about the soldier and the Battallion and Division or where i can get (other forum's?) more information.
His first name is Gregory, last name is Thomas.

I think its brilliant what you are doing, I have wanted to do this for sometime but didnt know how, is there a website to go to for adopting a grave?
I live in Jersey - Channel Islands so the nearest one would be in France.

Thank you for your kindness, it is nice to do this for these heroes.
We adopted several graves at 3 Cemetery's, in our country the Netherlands and in Belgium.
We knew it was possible and we wrote directly to these Cemetery's.
I searched for yoy in France but I didn't find it or I didn't look so good.
But the best thing you can do is write a e-mail to ABMC for adoption in France.
