AAF station 119 B-17G 43-38543

My Uncle, James Hagerty was the bombadier (sp?) on this plane that crash landed on 12/16/1944. I have a copy of the accident report. My Uncle is alive and well in Florida. He seldom talks about the war. He seems slightly uncomfortable when asked about the war. I would like to find out if his squadron (412th), or group (the 95th) are active and have reunions, etc... Jimmy did tell me this last summer that his plane went off the end of the run way and he got down in the nose "to see what it looked like". The pilot was Dale Metzinger. I also have the rest of the crews names. No one was injured in this crash. There are pictures attached to the report. The plane looks like a write off. His brother Leo J. Hagerty jr. flew with the 12th AF, 320th bomb group, flying C-47's. He went on to have a full AF career, retiring as a full Colonel. He was involved in an accident in Italy, mid-air with a B-26C. All survived on both aircraft. He is now deceased. Any information on either of my uncles would be greatly appreciated. Kelly J. Marion
