859th and 885th Spec Ops Sqns

I'm contracted to write (apparently) the first history of the 15th AF in Italy, and would like to include more than bombers and fighters.  Therefore, I'd welcome contact with any veterans or those with knowledge of the two Spec-Ops outfits, the 859th and 885th Bomb Squadrons.  The official unit histories tend to be skimpy, and while several threads on this site are helpful, most are over 2 years old and nearly all the links are dead.  Thanks for any help in telling the stirring story of The Forgotten Fifteenth.

    Jim, thank you.  I've been unable to find a current link to the 2461st.  Some material is available via the AF records agency, but while I'm awaiting those CDs to arrive, I'm continuing to seek other sources, especially for first-person accounts.  The 15th story is broader than I realized when I started the book, and I'm likely to wind up stuffing 12 pounds into a 9-pound bag!
