 5th bomb group 394th squadron

5th bomb group 394th squadron - 06/14/2008 07:22:28 PM
I served as a capt in the 5th bomb group 394th squadron stationed on morotai and samar
oct 1944-1945.
42 missions including balikapan.
the last names of the crew were :
pilot rice, co pilot grissom, navigator rook.
at 92 still above the grass and feeling good.
would like to know if there is any one left.

Abe,
My dad, Lt Robert Courtney, was co-pilot on the Clark crew and they flew a few of the same missions as the Rice crew in January '45.  He flew 41 missions, three
in Oct 44 to Balikpapan. He passed way in '94.

Abe,
I found your class photo on my bombardier website.  Use this link: http://freepages.military.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hfhm/Crosshairs/1989_Jun/Jun_page.htm to take you to the page.  Scroll down to pages 20 and 21 to view the picture.  According to the list of names you are on page 21, front row, first on the right.  If the page renders small, hover over the photo, be patient and a sizing button will appear in the lower right corner.  Click to enlarge the picture.
 
If you would like a copy to make into actual photos, send an email to hfhmsite@comcast.net.  I will send you a CD that you can take any photo shop or drugstore with a photo counter for printing.
