5290th A.S.A.C. Naha Okinawa 1945

Need help in identifying the 5290th A.S.A.C unit, what was it?   They produced a unit newsletter in August 1945 titled Okinawa Air Depot Dispatch.   They may have been a part of the 22nd Air Depot Group which was at Naha Air Base during that time.

ASAC stands for Air Service Area Command.  This unit controlled Air Depot Groups and other service units.

I might add to Mark's repsonse that the 5290th ASAC was a provisional headquarters formed on Okinawa.  I believe it existed for just a few months in 1945.

Bernies's comment is true as the AAF Station List for 1 May 1945 does not show this unit.
The 5289th ASAC was active in May 45 at New Guinea, but not the 5290th.
This unit does not show up on Far East Air Force station list for Aug 1945, so I suspect it was part of units assigned to AAFPOA on Okinawa.  I do not have a list for AAFPOA for Aug 45.
