499th - 01/23/2007 09:49:05 AM
There is a great book "Unoffical History of the 499TH". I purchased this on Amazon. It has pics of crews - I am not sure it is all the crews but it is a lot of them. But for someone like me with no pics. My Uncle is there. Also a history of the missions with the plane numbers. A good place for info.

If you are not a member, you might want to consider joining the 73rd Bomb Wing Association.  There are still some veterans from the 499th who attend the annual reunions.  The 2007 reunion will be from May 2 - 6 in Covington, KY (Cinncinnati area).  Check the Reunions section of this site for more information.  Hope to see you there.

I would love to come to the reunion. It is close enough for me to drive. Since I am new at this sight, what exactly do you mean by member? Help me -

Alice, If you will provide me with your Email address, I will be more than happy to send you all the information.  The 73rd Bomb Wing Association is composed to veterans and their family members.  You can join, the annual fee is $25 and can be paid when you register for the reunion.  Because your uncle was a member of the 73rd BW, you can join as well.  I'll send you more information once I have your Email address.
Sincerely,  Ken Fine at finechateau@msn.com
