485 Fighter Squadrons - 07/21/2006 02:26:30 PM
Hello everybody,
I'm a new member from Florennes Belgium.
I'm looking for the insignia of the 370 FG 485 FS based in Florennes Air Base in the WWII.
I have a Willys Jeep and I wond to paint my Jeep with the numbers and the insignia of the 485 Fighter Squadrons.
Can you help me ?
Thank you.
Jean-Marc

That's the only one I've found, tho someone else may have a better one.  Here's the description of the patch- may help with the colors:

EMBLEM. On a disc light turquoise blue, wide border red, a small, caricatured
lightning bug wearing red-and-white-striped jersey, light turquoise blue trousers and aviator's helmet, red boots and goggles, and yellow gloves, standing on two jagged, yellow lightning bolts striking toward sinister base, pilewise, and holding a large gray aerial bomb under the right arm, and a gray automatic revolver in the left hand, while facing toward sinister, all in front of a large white cloud formation. (Approved
20 Mar 1945.)

Jean-Marc,

Not a good image, but at least the colors are vibrant enough and supplement the image Gary provided.

Tkae what you like and leave the rest....
