All I can tell you is the information from Roger Freeman and David Osborne's "B-17 Flying Fortress Story" :

42-3486 Del Denver 07/10/43; Rome 07/24/53; ass 812BS/482BG (MI-D) Alconbury 09/22/53:(H2-X); MIA Oscherrsleban 07/11/43, w/Mcginnis (First in group) e/a cr ljseimeer, 10KIA, MACR 2522 (Found with bodies) (NO NAME LISTED)

IF you do not have the MACR, (Missing Air Crew Report), send email to Lynne.Gamma@maxwell.af.mil and she should send you a copy free of charge.

Also. please visit the Research section at the top of this page to obtain an address to write for his IDPF (Individual Deceased Personnel File), Form 293.

Also, Please go to www.abmc.gov for information on his grave site....
Then WW II....Input in UNITS, 812. (Toward bottom right side of page).

Scroll down to Wylie George C.

Hello.  My father-in-law was a member of the 42-3486 crew. He was fortunate to survive his jump into the North Sea and spent 15 months as POW. I would love to compare notes and information with you about the crew,, etc.

    Gary,

Reading your entry on the ARG guestbook, the remains of 42-3486 were certainly scrapped by the RNethAF....I have some recovery pictures in a book. If you're interested I can try to scan them for you.

    Take care,

Any of you guys run across a mention of a Sgt/ MSgt Hart, a Bomber Radioman, and/or the nickname "Spec", let me know.
Only info I can provide, so far, is when I was about 10-12.  We were at a hobby shop and I picked up a B-24 Lancaster that said "Pathfinder" accross the top of the box.  Dad said, "I flew with those guys, but not in that kind of plane."

I would also dearly like to have a picture of this particular crew and plane.
I have gathered some more info on 42-3486, see thread "J.J.Maginnes, 42-3486, B-17F (SH)" on what I have so far.  It answers a number of above questions.
    Any additions would be appreciated.
