447th Bomb Group, 710th Sq. - 07/24/2008 09:29:53 PM
I recently received a box full of documents that belonged to my uncle, Quincy Edwards. He was a member of the 710th. These include Citation Letters, Awards Letters, Clothing Forms, Individual Flight Records, Special Orders, etc. (even the Order of the Purple Shaft).

Let me know if anyone has an interest.

Regards,

Frank Key

You keep them in a safe place and cherish them for what they are the keep sakes of a hero.

Your Uncle deserves the appreciation and respect that all WWII Veterans deserve for giving all they had to give us what we have today in the USA.

Don't sell it or give it away, keep these items safe and secure for your own family.

Citation Letters, medals, awards were not given out for nothing they were earned.

Your Uncle served his country bravely and proudly and treat his rewards with the respect and appreciation they deserve.
Sincerely yours,
PA.Dutchman

Frank,

I most certainly would be interested in the materials you mention.  My father served in the 447th BG, 710th Sq from September through November 1944.  He flew 33 missions with the Hoffman crew.  I have been involved with the 447th Association for more than 20 years and was involved in the development of the 447th web site.  We are always on the watch for documents and photos that we can scan and preserve.  Do you know more about your uncles activities with the 447th?  Was he flight crew or ground crew?  Approximately when was he at Rattlesden?  I will contact you via the Private Message system of this web site.

Hello Frank.
Have you been to the 447th Bomb Group website yet? (www.447bg.com)
A picture of your uncle appears as part of the Lt. Blecha combat crew.

All the best,
John Doherty, grandson of Lt. Leo Teplitz

You hang on to your uncles things or someday you will kick yourself in the butt for giving them or selling them to someone else.

Someone on here found a set of dog tags on E Bay. They were right when they said how sad to see a mans dog tags as a thing to bid on.

Keep your things, your uncle gave his all for them and for us. He deserves to have your respect and appreciation of his service items and records in respect to him and all the men who served with him in WWII.
Sincerely yours,
PA.Dutchman
