43-37894 Big Poison LOC 17 Oct 1944

B-17G 43-37894 "Big Poison" made a landing on the continent on 17 October 1944, apparently in Belgium.
I wonder who has more info about a more precise location, circumstances, pilot's name and if any casualties were involved?
Thanks for any help.

Regards,

Leendert

This comes from this site it a little more than you had.
    http://www.joebaugher.com/usaf_serials/usafserials.html
    43-37894 (490th BG, 849th BS, "Big Poison") collided with B-17G 43-37806 Feb 6 1945.
Crew bailed out safely but aircraft crashed into cottages at Prickwillow,
    killing two civilians.

    43- 37806 (388th BG, 561st BS, "Miss Fortune") collided with B-17G 43-37894 of
490th BG Feb 6, 1945 and crashed at Wicken. Crew bailed out successfully but
copilot was killed when his parachute failed to open.

If you do a search for this book, many used ones are available it has all the B-17 serial numbers and a brief record of the planes history. Sometimes the pilot is mentioned, I know this from someone I know was shot down, but these two plane entries do not list the pilots.

Thanks Dutch, but I do have that book.
I'm particularly interested in LOC cases instead (not necessarily causing a write-off) to find a similar incident at the little RAF Airfield at Bruges-St. Croix, presumably in the fall of 1944. It is said that a killed (or heavily wounded?) crew member was taken from the plane here.  B-17 could take off after a couple of days.
Therefore trying to match any LOC case with the Bruges casualty.

Re Ac 894,  at present the only thing I can tell you is that the Pilot was Wallace A. Johnston.  The microfilm just says Brussels re where it landed and that the crew came back on another bomber being ferried home.  They arrived back at base about 3 hrs after the formation returned.

Best I can do at present
