Hello Cynde, My name is Stu, I run the Schuylkill County Military History Blog and was working on putting a post about your dad on the blog, I try to keep a list of stories by our  Schuylkill County heroes or those close by the county. I found a nice picture and story of your dad today in the Pottsville Republican August 23 1944 issue about how he holds the Distingushed Flying Cross and the Air Medal. If you have some good info I would be glad to post it on the blog.

Thierry,

Richard Daniels was a classmate of my father during Bombardier's training.  This picture is from their class book.  I also have three orders that include Lt Daniels, if you would like copies or a higher resolution version of the photo, PM me an email address and I'll send them.

I inform you of the death of Richard Daniels (bombardier) which occurred on March 1 last, four days before his 87 years.
Richard Daniels was the bombardier of the B-17 Powerful Katrinka for several missions and also for the last mission of this aircraft.
He was the first crew member alive with whom I had contact.
Richard loved to talk about his experience during the war, participating in many aviation-related events, often exhibiting World War II memorabilia.

Also, he was a member of this forum. His nickname was DickD.

I will never forget him.

Thank you Thierry for all that you do.  I am the son of the "powerful Katrinka" crewchield.   For other's that read these postings, the ship was named after my mother.  Like Shawneegal, I enjoy reading the comments of posters.  I live in Oneida, NY (near Syracuse).

Hello friends, I am Fermin and live near where crashed p. K.  in Spain.  Pardon my language, but in my ignorance I am using an automatic translator. Recently I am looking for information and anything that can help me to open a small museum in Mezkiriz, and I have found records of Thiery I followed here. I'd like to contact thiery and who wants to help me. Thank you
