400th Bomb Sqdr. Black Pirates Lt.L.M. Groupe info needed Bombardier

This may be a tricky one, but my friend has a Jolly Rogers 5th Air Force jacket (Black Pirates) and it has Lt. L.M. Groupe writen inside and on the name tag. He was a Bombardier. For the life of me I can't find any such name as hard as I have tried. There were five names Groupe in the Veteran data base. None close to L.M. Can anyone help me out please? Bless you. And thanks.

There is an enlistment record for a Leonard M Groupe from Cook County, IL who enlisted in the Air Corps in Chicago on 31 July 42.   He had 1 year of college and was born in 1923.   When he enlisted as a private his serial number was 16080423.   He might be a possibility.

    (added after Jack's question below)
    To see the record, enter:
    Groupe Leonard M
on the link below and select the enlistment record.

Now HOW in the world did you find that? And so quick. Either you are very smart or I am very dumb. Probably the latter. Thank you very much. Best, Jack

There is a website dedicated to bombardiers.  If the owner of the site is still active, you might be able to get a scanned copy of the Deming 44-7 class book from him.  I have tried to contact him through that website and through and through this forum recently but he has not responded to me.

Also, I have several books on the 90th BG, including the one on the 400th BS.  He is not listed in the books, but they do not contain actual group or squadron rosters.  The "Black Pirates" book has some crew photos but they are just identified by the pilot and the rest of the crew are not named.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner.  I thought I had but the message I typed seams to have evaporated.  Anyhow, the three books listed on the 90th are all pretty readily available.  The Black Pirates book was printed in Sidney by John Sands Pty. Ltd.  The first history book on the 90th was called "The Jolly Rogers" and was printed by the same John Sands Ptt. Ltd.  That book has been reprinted by Schiffer and I believe it is the third one in the list given above.
