4 November 1945 Mishap - 08/24/2008 11:58:53 AM
On 4 November 1945, a C-47 was flown by 2Lt Albert B Apple from Bovingdon, England to Munich, Germany. Before reaching Munich the plane crashed killing all aboard. I am trying to find the tail number on this aircraft. The info that I have received reflects the plane belonging to the 324th Transport Sq, 566th Transport Gp but didn't see any forum for them. I have the facts and circumstances on the mishap, just no tail #. Thanks in advance for any information.

Thanks Terry.  I missed this. I have a list of various websites I go to before I ever ask on the forum and I must have skipped over this. This is exactly the one that I am looking for. I guess age is catching up.  Again, thanks for all the help

Randy, 43-15104 belonged to 9th AF 516th TCG 324th TCS, based at Bovingdon.  This unit was established on April 12th 1945 at Grove, and did not see combat. The C-47 was delivered to USAAF on Feb 3rd 1944, to 8th AF March 30th and then to 9th AF.
