I can't find a reference to a MACR anywhere. Have you tried to get a copy of the IDPF? It may well have the serial and codes of the a/c. All I know is that is was coded CL-? Shabby www.55th.org

You are right that there was no MACR. Neither was their a From 14. But for 20 April 1945 there is a loss of a P-51 for the 862nd BS (3SF) listed in the "Cumulative Losses List" of the ETO (microfilm roll A-5686). The serial number was 44-72963. Beyond that I can't give any further information. Ted51
