381st Art and Media List
I'd like to try and put together a list of paintings, prints, lithographs, illustrations, whatever, or any other types of artsy media (carvings and models?) that reference the 381st. If you know an artist and title, feel free to pitch in. Off the top of my head I know: Robert Taylor Coming Home Return from Schweinfurt Thunderheads Over Ridgewell Winter's Welcome (getting cocky) Scott Burris and Lloyd Sunderland Poster - 381st Bomb Group, Triumphant We Fly

Thanks, it was needing a freshened up look. The new site is mobile friendly...except for the image gallery components. Good suggestion, I've added: Martin Michael Land The 381st Memorial, Ridgewell After the Storm B17 "Little Rock-ette" Carving the Turkey Fearless Fosdick In the Company of Heroes Joker's High Just For the Moment There Was Peace Misty Ridgewell Onward to Bremen Return From Zwickau Return From Zwickau (Little Buddies) Returning to Base S for Sugar To Hell and Back Triumphant We Fly The Winter of '44

Hi Scott, Just want to point out that the Artist is Michael Land and not Martin. He is an excellent artist and we have a few of his offerings. Most years we raffle one of his paintings so get over the pond and buy a ticket.

I have one of those plates as well (number 10895). It shows three G models, one from the 532nd squadron (call sign M), one from the 533rd squadron (call sign S), and the third in the distance. I couldn't get enough magnification to read the serial numbers. They'd re well done.

If you are not familiar with these illustrations I could send you some jpeg images to review and determine if they fit your project needs. Bob

Scott - About 10 years ago I bought a 381st Photo from the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Wa. Only one they had. It is mounted in Blue Thick Cardboard 8 x 10. In the Middle is a Color Photo of # 43 - 37675 N " Patches " in Formation. It is signed by Pilot Everett Worrell and Dated 8/5/44. It is also signed by CP , Nav. , B , and WG. Mounted at Top is the Postage Stamp with B-17 " Patches". Mounted below is a typed List of the 5 Crewman that Signed the Photo and the Inscription " Dedicated to Flight Engineer / Gunner Gilbert " Gil " Tennant 10/2/22 to 7/31/95 " It is Beautiful and was definitely Professionally Done. I believe the Pilot was from the Seattle Area. Ever seen one of these? Cheers, Mike

I've seen the photo, and the stamp, but not that assembly. Everett was very active in the early days of the old HeavyBombers list, which predated the ArmyAirForces.com web site.

Jack Goldstein Scott; Forgot to include in my first message that I also have a bottle of Chandelle Wine with a label showing the two B-17's and a P-51 of the Confederate Air Force ... One is the "Texas Raider" Now that's an interesting one. I looked through their "Spirit of Flight" gallery, but they don't have an image of the label. Could you jot down the specifics, which wine and vintage?
