I am compiling a note book on this unit for a friend who served during WW2 and am unable to locate much information. If anyone has information please advise.

You might also try the wing historian (354th Fighter Wg) at Eielson AFB Alaska, who should have historical information on former units at Eielson. the 343d Airdrome Sq, which was activated on 1 May 44 and inactivated on 29 Oct 45, then disbanded on 8 Oct 48, was reconstituted in 1991 as the 343d Operations Support Sq and was active at Eielson from 1 Jul 91 until 20 Aug 93 under the 343d Operations Gp. (dates in italics is not verified)
