315th Air Transport Service Group

My Uncle, Robert James Arffmann, was in the 315th Air Transport Service Group from 1943-1945.

1) Is there a reunion for this group?

2) Did anyone serve in this group?

3) Does anyone have any infomation on this group?

Thank you

Jim Davis

You can search for this unit by clicking on the Units db tab at the top of the page. There is not any information about group association listed there, but there is a website for the [black]315th Troop Carrier Group Association, WWII[/black]:

    Hope this helps.

I will repeat this here as well:

There is no such unit named Air Transport Service Group.

It may be the 315th Air Service Group or the 315th Air Transport Group, or it could be the 315th Troop Carrier Group.

The 315th Troop Carrier Group was called the 315th Transport Group prior to redesignation. This is the most likely unit, and the the only one found in the current database.

    Hi

In "The Mighty Eighth" book by Roger Freemen there are details of this unit on page 248.

    Hope this helps
