Would anyone have any information about my Grandfather, 2nd Lt. John T. Polando. He was a pilot for the B-24 304 wing. He served with the 455th bomb group, 471 st squadron. Any pictures would be really nice. Listed below are some of his crew members: Olin H. Moore Jerome "Jerry" Maisano 2nd Lt. Robert Basala Carl C. Case John H. Heltzen Thanks, Caleb Polando

Hi Caleb, I have him as being shot down on "Ten Hits and a Miss" on the 14 Oct 44 mission to the refinery at Odertal, Germany. The Missing Aircrew Report (MACR) number is 9297. He evaded capture, and I think I have some info on that, too. Sorry, but I can't find any pictures of him or his crew. Here's the aircraft (see V1): http://www.b24bestweb.com/Pics-T-TEN_HIT-TENC.htm I'll keep checking - I had found some info on him last month, and I will pass that on to you. There are other resources available online, but I don't have the links and addresses handy. I'm sure the other members will fill you in on them. More to follow, Dave
